ELI MURPHY
(Murphy, 2007)
78”! VL 6” Dormant to Sev. Diploid, fragrant.
ELI MURPHY is the tallest and most vigorous daylily I have introduced. Definitely a back of the border plant,
standing over 6 ½  feet tall, and up to 7 ½ feet tall, with 6 to 10 branches and 42 to 80 buds.
This late to very late daylily blooms continuously for 7 to 10 weeks, once established, with classically formed gold blooms
with a red orange band. The scape diameter is huge, to hold up the stout scapes. In 5 years, 5 scapes out of about 100 have toppled
during thunderstorms, all had nearly 80 blooms. Fertile both ways, and breeds giants. Out of AUTUMN MINARET by a Benzinger seedling.
